MANILA, Philippines — Fearing the Movie and Television Ratings and Classification Board (MTRCB) might find his “Who’s that Girl?” nude scenes too much, Luis Manzano hoped censors will let his butt exposure through.
“I hope they won’t cut it kasi hindi ko pinakita yung kaluluwa ko para lang sa wala,” he said to Bulletin Entertainment in an interview Feb. 21 for the Viva Entertainment comedy about mistaken identity.
Luis also said he is praying his mother Batangas Governor Vilma Santos will be able to see the humor in the scene. Santos earlier expressed dissatisfaction over her son’s sexy Cosmo magazine shoot.
“I showed the best photo from that shoot at nagalit siya. So ngayon with what I was able to show in this film eh naghahanap na ako ng pamalit sa apelyido ko kasi hindi malayong magalit siya ulit,” he said half-joking.
But if his mother takes this move for sheer comic reasons Luis said, “Sana matuwa siya at sana sumunod sa yapak ko si Ryan Christian.”
While Luis refused to detail the exposure, Anne Curtis blurted out that he appeared in three butt revealing sequences.
“May three butt exposures si Manzano dito! But apart from his nude scenes, the movie is worth watching because it’s not the typical romantic-comedy love story,” Anne said.
At this point Luis suggested that the Wenn Deramas-megged film is true to life “because Anne is obsessed with my character here and there was a time in our lives that I had to file a TRO against Anne so you will get to know us better if you watch this.”
No comment on Angel and Phil
Previously very open about his personal life, Luis is now a changed man when it comes to his love life.
Luis blocked Angel Locsin-related question with my-lips-are-sealed responses.
“No comment,” he replied when entertainment scribes pressed for reaction on Phil Younghusband’s viral courtship asking Angel out on Valentine’s via Twitter.
“I read that Kevin Spacey once said that just because you are a public figure it means you need to share everything with the public. I realized that that’s right and although it will take a while getting used to because I’ve always been very open about my personal life, it’s my choice to be quiet about these stuff from now on.”
Also starring Eugene Domingo, Candy Pangilinan, DJ Durano, Dennis Padilla and Dina Bonnevie, “Who’s that Girl?” opens March 2 nationwide.
