MANILA, Philippines – “I did not [walkout].”
This is what actress Gretchen Barretto replied, as quoted by abs-cbnnews.com in a June 17 report, when asked about her recent “walkout” incident.
The “walkout” reportedly happened during La Greta’s photo shoot held sometime this week for her “latest endorsement.” According to the abs-cbnnews.com report, Barretto graciously faced the media who visited the set to answer questions regarding her “family, career, and her recovery from a recent trampoline accident.”
However, one “reporter from the print media” compared her daughter Dominique’s educational attainment to hers after the actress expressed her wish to go back to school.
Dominique is currently in college, while Barretto supposedly only finished junior year in high school.
Offended, Barretto pointed out that what the reporter did was “very intrusive.”
“Why emphasize that? Kakulangan ko ba 'yon bilang tao? Humaharap naman ako ng maayos sa inyo so why grill me on that? I think we should stop this interview. Nakakapikon na!” the Kapamilya actress was quoted as saying before leaving the members of the media.
Afterwards, in another event, Barretto explained her action.
“I just chose to stay away from a situation, which is against my sensibility and dignity. You just can't stand by and accept all questions thrown by media against you and be kawawa. That was my choice,” said she.
Barretto’s stand was backed up by a representative from her endorsement’s company, who explained that the actress did not walk out because she finished the photo shoot.
