Metro Manila and 17 other areas were placed under Storm Signal No. 2 Tuesday afternoon as Tropical Storm Juaning (Nock-Ten) intensified slightly.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Juaning increased its threat to Southern and Central Luzon.
A report on dzBB radio said PAGASA expects Metro Manila to be directly affected, expecting it to experience strong winds in the next 24 hours.
As of 4 p.m., PAGASA said Juaning was located at 50 km northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte, packing maximum winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
It was moving west northwest at 15 kph and is expected to be 50 km south of Dagupan City Wednesday afternoon. PAGASA said it expects Juaning to exit Philippine territory Thursday afternoon.
