Luis Manzano slams PDA rumors

MANILA, Philippines – Luis Manzano has clarified talks that he and Jennylyn Mercado were seen engaging in public display of affection a.k.a. PDA recently.

“Hindi po kami nag-P-PDA. At siguro if I help a lady up, yung rampa sa likod [ng kotse], of course I have to hold the lady. Baka iniiisip naman nila PDA kaagad yun porket hawak mo yung likod at hinahawakan mo yung kamay paakyat,” clarified the “Pinoy’s Got Talent (PGT) Season 3” host in a taped interview aired on “The Buzz,” July 24.

The issue sparked after Manzano’s current flame, Jennylyn Mercado, dropped by the “PGT” set early last week, where their alleged PDA---buzz on the cheeks and hugging---were caught on tape as shown on "The Buzz."

“Well if you consider beso as [a form of PDA]. Common sense eh hindi ko siya ilalagay sa ganong predicament,” Manzano said.

“Kung may PDA man na usapan, sana kami na lang ni Billy [Crawford]. Kasi mas malambing pa kami ni Billy eh, on-cam pa yun ah, on-cam. So sana mas ma-isyu na lang kami ni Billy,” added Luis in jest.

To set the record straight, Manzano shared why Mercado paid her a visit that day.

“Para malinaw ang lahat, meron lang ihinatid sa akin si Jen. At nagkataon na since nandoon naman siya at kilala niya si Billy, pinilit ko na siyang bumaba, just to say hi man lang,” he recalled, adding, “Right after, not even more than five to ten minutes, hindi nga niya nakita si Direk Bobet [Vidanes] kahit yung sa staff. Wala siyang nakita, [umalis na siya agad].”

Roughly two months since he admitted he's exclusively dating Mercado, the couple is seemingly taking things slow. Manzano said, “Sabi ko nga I’ll be very honest. Kaya ko kahit diretsahan [sabihin] kung kami talaga. Kaso hindi talaga, we’re still dating…“

“I don’t see the point of covering up. I’m not gonna expound on this. Ang punto ko naman is I’ll only answer things na nasagot ko na dati or at least [do so tp] defend a person dahil nga may mga isyu na sobrang PDA,” he concluded.
