MANILA, Philippines -- After her stint at the recent Teen Choice Awards, Charice is off to Japan to finish and promote her upcoming album.
The Pinay singer’s US fans will have to wait as her album will be released in Asia first, abs-cbnnews.com reported.
“We don’t have a date yet, but it is definitely going to be the fall. It is going to come out in Asia first,” Charice said.
Apart from her album, Charice will also perform for Japan the song “Far As The Sky,” which she dedicates to victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami that hit the country. The “Pyramid” hit-maker was tapped to record the theme song of an upcoming Japanese TV series “Bull Doctor.”
Homeward bound
The positive news for Charice’s followers doesn’t end with the new CD. The Pinay belter is scheduled to stage a Manila concert before the year ends.
The announcement coincided with Charice’s invitation for Arjohn Gilbert (the talented Aeta boy from Clark, Pampanga who was discovered on YouTube with his renditions of Justin Bieber’s hit songs) to join her upcoming Manila concert.
“Arjohn, next time I do my own show in the Philippines, I would love for you to come and perform with me,” Charice tweeted Aug. 6, after watching Arjohn’s videos.
The 19-year-old singer also sought the help of a fan to relay her message to Arjohn.
“@iChasterJen definitely this year. bago mag-end [ang concert]. Kaya sana malaman nya [Arjohn] na makakasama sya,” Charice said.
A video recorded by the Chasters (collective name of Charice’s fans) showed Arjohn calling Charice the “most talented singer.”
“Thank you Charice Pempengco [for inviting me] to your show. Maraming-maraming salamat sa iyo, sana makasama kita sa international na album, duet tayo… Ate Charice, sana pagbutihin mo pa ang pagkanta, ikaw lang ang most talented singer [internationally]. Maraming salamat and God bless you,” Arjohn said.
