MANILA, Philippines – Wedding bells will ring sooner for Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad and Pasig City Congressman Roman Romulo as they are set to exchange “I do’s” on January 2012.
In a tweet by “Startalk” TV host Ricky Lo on Sept. 23, he stated that the wedding “has been reset to Jan. 22, 2012 upon the advice of a feng shui expert… Instead of February 2012.”
The news of the couple's engagement was first revealed by Romulo’s sister, Agriculture Undersecretary Berna Romulo-Puyat, last week. His other sister, columnist Mons Romulo-Tantoco, deemed that the union of her brother with the ex-girlfriend of President Noynoy Aquino is “a marriage made in heaven.”
Romulo, the son of former Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo, confirmed the engagement also last week, telling reporters “I asked her to marry me a week ago.”
He also said, “Some may say it is too soon but I think, we’re both old enough to know what we want in life.”
Prior to the engagement that took place at the Our Lady of Fatima Church in Valenzuela City, Romulo reportedly asked for the “Wil Time Bigtime” host’s hand in marriage from her mother, Evelyn Soledad, weeks before.
Lo said in the same tweet that the soon-to-be married couple has set their eyes on higher political seats, as Soledad will purportedly seek a congressional seat in Bulacan while Romulo will run for Senator in the 2013 elections.
Feng shui buffs
Consulting the charts and the stars is nothing out of the ordinary among celebrities. TV host-actress Kris Aquino and sexy actress Ara Mina both consulted feng shui before moving into their respective abodes. Aquino was also quoted as saying in an interview posted on Feng Shui expert Marites Allen’s official website that, “I also consult feng shui for schedules of my contract signings…”
Beauty queen-turned-TV host-actress Ruffa Gutierrez also received a popular prediction last year—that 2010 wasn’t favorable for her love life.
"I was born in the year of the Tiger. This is actually not my year to fall in love, I should fall in love in the year of the Rabbit and not this year (the year of the Metal Tiger)," she told ABS-CBN News in an interview January last year.
