Angeline faces intrigues head on

MANILA, Philippines – Ever since she emerged as grand champ of reality talent show “Star Power: Search For The Next Female Pop Superstar,” newbie singer Angeline Quinto has been plagued by intrigues the most fiery of which involves Sarah Geronimo.

Angeline-Sarah 'rivalry'

Of the many ABS-CBN singers, it is Geronimo whom Quinto has been repeatedly pitted against.

According to PEP’s s Sept. 29 report, rumors surfaced that the Popstar Princess and Viva Entertainment Group talent Geronimo renewed her contract with the Kapamilya network under specific conditions. It is said that Viva boss Vic del Rosario requested that Quinto’s career be not pushed further so it won't "eat away" at Geronimo's stature.

As regards the issue, Quinto told PEP, “Hindi naman ako naniniwala. Kasi ako, feeling ko, di 'yun magagawa ni Sarah.”

She went on, "Kapag siya ang kausap ko, sobrang wala din akong masabi sa lahat ng advice na binibigay niya. Siya pa ang nagsasabi sa akin na talagang mararating ko ang lahat ng pangarap ko kasi mabait daw akong tao.

"Minsan kasi, sa kanya rin ako humihingi ng advice kasi alam kong napagdaanan niya lahat ng mga napagdadaanan ko ngayon," shared Quinto.

Same theme?

Now that Quinto’s first-ever movie “You Light Up My Life” with leading man Coco Martin is underway, the speculations spurring her rivalry with Geronimo have intensified.Rumor has it that Quinto's upcoming movie is similar in theme to the ones Geronimo have done in the past.

Quinto, however,explained, "Basta ako, hindi naman lahat ng tao ay nabibigyan ng ganitong pagkakataon kaya talagang ginagawa ko ang lahat para sa trabaho ko. Pinangarap ko ito at masaya ako na unti-unti nang nagkakaroon ng katuparan.

"Kami...nag-usap kami ni Sarah mga two months ago pa. Di ko pa alam nu'n ang tungkol sa pelikulang ito kaya 'di ko na-open sa kanya," continued the 21-year-old singer.
