Lindsay Lohan to visit Manila?

MANILA, Philippines – Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan is purportedly coming to town.

Abs-cbnNEWS.com reported on Feb. 29 that a local clothing brand is currently ironing out a deal to bring the formerly troubled yet now sober star to the country.

More, the report noted that LiLo, Lohan’s monicker, is set to grace a fashion show in Manila and will most likely be joined by locally-based Fil-Am teen star Ivan Dorschner.

Lohan currently appears in several Metro Manila billboards for clothing brand Jag Jeans.

In her official Twitter account (@lindsaylohan) the 25-year-old actress giddily told a fan that she'll be coming to "Vancouver, Canada" to shoot her newest film. However, no mention was made about an impending trip to the Philippines.

Lohan used to be chic-flick sweetheart as she top billed several notable teeny-bopper films such as “Mean Girls,” “Freaky Friday” and “Herbie” until she started losing her track sometime in 2004. From then on the derailed star figured in US tabloids for her alleged eating disorder, failed relationships and alcoholism, which led to her checking into rehab several times.

According to an AP report, Feb. last year, Lohan was charged with the theft of a necklace reportedly stolen from a jewelry store in Jan. She was sentenced to 120 days in jail, 360 hours of community service at the Downtown Women's Center, and 120 hours at the L.A. County morgue for misdemeanor theft and probation violation, to which she pled no contest.

Yet due to jail overcrowding, Lohan served the sentence under house arrest, wearing a tracking ankle monitor for 35 days between May 26 and June 29, as said in Los Angeles Times’ July report. While under house arrest, though, Lohan failed a random alcohol test but a judge decided that it did not constitute a probation violation and Lohan would receive no additional punishment.

On October 2011, however, Judge Stephanie Sautner revoked Lohan's probation, sent her to jail, and set bail at $100,000. Lohan posted bail a short time later and was released. Last month, an Access Hollywood report confirmed that Lohan will play Elizabeth Taylor in a biopic titled "Liz and Dick."

Before Lohan, other Hollywood celebs have visited the country and endorsed local clothing brands, among them were “Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale and “Gossip Girl” actor Ed Westwick for Bench and Penshoppe, respectively.
