MANILA, Philippines – Rayver Cruz has slammed rumors that he and girlfriend of more than a year, Cristine Reyes, have already broken up.

“Basta ang masasabi ko, straight to the point, na kami pa rin ni AA (Cristine’s nickname), we’re still the same. Busy siya sa work niya, so siguro, naninibago ang mga tao na bihira na kami magkasama,” Rayver told PEP in an article posted on March 26.

He claimed, “Hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling ‘yan [balita].”

Talk about their purported breakup apparently began sometime last week, but was immediately quelled by Cristine herself through a text message sent also to PEP on March 22.

“Ok naman po kami ni Rayver. Same pa rin. Wala naman pong issue na dapat pag-usapan... Haay kayo talaga hmp! J” her message was quoted as saying.

Rayver said they try not to get affected by these rumors.

“’Pag alam kasi naming hindi totoo, hindi na lang kami nagpapaapekto. Papa-stress pa ba kami sa issue na hindi tototo?” said he.

Rayver also addressed the observation that Cristine has been doing more projects than him as of late. Aside from appearing on "ASAP 2012" every Sunday with Rayver, Cristine is also part of the daily primetime soap, "Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig." But according to Rayver, he’s happy that his girlfriend’s career is doing well and that he believes that opportunity will be given to him at the right time.

“I know hindi naman ako pababayaan ng ABS-CBN management, ng Star Magic. Hindi naman kailangang madaliin, hindi naman dapat lagi akong pumantay kay AA.

“Alam ko naman na magakakaron din ako ng break, salitan lang 'yan!” he said.

He continued, “Hindi naman matatapakan ang pride ko kasi alam kong may pinaghahawakan akong talent. Hindi naman kailangang madaliin ang lahat ng bagay.

“Saka alam naman natin kung sino ang mas mataas sa relasyon namin, ‘di ba? Alam naman natin sa umpisa pa lang,” he said, but clarified that this has never been issue between them.

Meanwhile, Rayver denied getting jealous over Cristine’s proclamation that she has a crush on her new leading man, Piolo Pascual, saying that he trusts her.

“Bakit ko sisirain ‘yung inspired siyang magtrabaho? Alam ko mas nakakatulong ‘yun sa proyekto, so bakit ko sisirain 'yung vibes niya na ganun?” he added.
