Twitterverse pulls for Dolphy, wishes him speedy recovery

Even as members of the Quizon family continued to thank the public for the prayers and well-wishes for the quick recovery of ailing King of Comedy Dolphy, more messages of support poured into Twitter on Friday from fans and industry colleagues of the legendary entertainment icon.

Actor Marvin Agustin tweeted, “Praying for Tito Dolphy’s speedy recovery… let’s continue to pray together for our only comedy king.”

Ogie Alcasid retweeted, “Prayers for our King of Comedy Dolphy… He made us all smile and laugh!”

Jaya posted, “Blessed Friday to us all…say a quick prayer for THE COMEDY KING DOLPHY…hope gets better soon…”

Tirso Ripoll, guitarist of the hard rock band, Razorback, tweeted, “AWFUL NEWS. HOPE HE RECOVERS.”

Ogie Diaz frantically posted this Thursday, “Let’s pray for Tito Dolphy’s fast recovery. Pray, pray, pray tayo.

Paul Ovejera (@iampaulovejera) was only one of several Twitter users, along with talent manager Girlie Rodis and stand-up comedian Pooh, who posted this prayer, “Dolphy in ICU now because of pneumonia… Lord pagalingin niyo po siya.”

Eryn Noguerras (@erynnoguerras) had a more rah-rah-rah attitude with her tweet that simply said, “Dolphy FTW!!!!!!!”

And Annie Kate Astillero (@labialrecords) practically begged the comedian to stay strong with her tweet, “Nooo Dolphy don’t die yet!!

Tiny Pojarda (@thefabtiny) claimed to be a relative with this tweet, “Lolo Dolphy’s my Lola Turing’s 1st cousin… Praying for his speedy recovery as I know he’s an exceptional person.”

Bubut Rivera (@bubutrivera) addressed this tweet directly to Dolphy’s partner Zsa Zsa Padilla in behalf of her husband, “still praying a lot for mang dolphy…don’t worry God is so good, that he will take care of mang PIDOL! -bubut n denie”

For her part, Dolphy’s long-time partner, Zsa Zsa Padilla, echoed the family’s appreciation for all well-wishers and tweeted on Thursday night, “Thank you for your prayers.”

Earlier this year, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and other film industry are pushing the government to recognized Dolphy as National Artist. Sen. Estrada said it is particularly important for Dolphy, who will turn 85 next month, to be honored as such “while he’s still alive.”
