MANILA, Philippines - Continuous rains triggered a landslide in Olongapo City on Wednesday morning, blocking the half lane of a national highway in the area.
Josie Timoteo, Office of Civil Defense Region 3, said the minor landslide struck Purok 12, Old Cabalan, Olongapo City.
Timoteo, however, said the city engineering office personnel are now in the area to clear the ruble and debris.
"Passable naman to all types of vehicles...so far almost done na clearing operation," she said in a radio interview.
Timoteo said the local disaster response teams in Pampanga are now in alert for possible flooding and landslides as rains have been continuous.
