Luzon will experience continous rainy weather until Thursday, said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration weather forecaster Samuel Duran.
“Ang pag-ulan ay dulot solely ng low pressure area,” Duran explained.
The rains will be concentrated in Central and Southern Luzon including the National Capital Region, he added.
Metro Manila is expected to experience light rains, estimated at 2.5 milimeters of rainfall per hour. The rest of Luzon will experience moderate to heavy rains of 5 to 10 mm per hour.
Duran said that the LPA has a small chance of developing into a typhoon.
“Ayon sa model natin, kung sakali mang hindi malusaw ang LPA, mababa ang tsansa nitong maging bagyo. Kailangang lumabas ang LPA ng Philippine Area of Responsibility para bumuwelo at maging isang ganap na bagyo,” said the forecaster.
Weather bulletin
In its 5 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said that “Luzon will experience cloudy skies with widespread rains, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.”
The rest of the country will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest to Southeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and coming from Southwest over the rest of Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough,” said PAGASA.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
