MANILA, Philippines – Even a few days before the much-awaited grand finals, “X Factor” Philippines mentor-judges Gary Valenciano, Charice, and Martin Nievera had already assured the remaining three finalists that they’re all already winners in their own right.
Gary, who mentors finalist Daddy’s Home of the Group category, said during a live interview with the mentor-judges and finalists on “Umagang Kay Ganda," Oct. 2, “My only word for Daddy’s Home will also be my word for all the others. Pero sa Daddy’s Home talaga, let’s stick to our plan. We have a game plan. Pero I think everybody else has a game plan. You stick to it, you’ve come this far. Out of [the more than] 20,000 [hopefuls], you’re the top three. You’re already winners, actually.”
He took the opportunity to express his pride in having been able “to be part of something this big, na ipinapakita sa tao ‘yun talagang pinakamagaling na maaaring maipakita sa kanila.”
Charice, who mentors KZ Tandingan of the Girls category, said, “Nae-excite ako kasi parang from thousands down to three [finalists]. Sobrang proud ako not only kay KZ, sa Girls category, pero lahat sila even sa three of them, sa lahat, top 12, lahat ng nakapasok, kaya very important ‘to para sa aming mga judges and mentors.”
Martin, who mentors Gab Maturan from the Boys category, expressed, “There’s a whole new brand of singers that are born now, thanks to ‘X Factor’ Philippines.”
On their part, all finalists swore to give their best in their respective last performances, which they said they will dedicate to their supporters, families, and God.
The grand finals of the first season of “X Factor” Philippines will be held on Oct. 6 and 7. Martin revealed that the finalists’ performances will be backed by the ABS-CBN Orchestra, making it “the biggest and the best of all the episodes of ‘X Factor.’”
