MANILA, Philippines - Sultry actress Angelica Panganiban has given her approval to boyfriend Derek Ramsay's wish to adopt a baby.
In an interview during a press conference for her latest film, "Bulong," with Vhong Navarro, Panganiban said she sees nothing wrong if they will adopt since she is an adopted child herself.
The actress's statement was in reaction to Ramsay’s reported remarks that he would like to have a baby even before getting married. Panganiban has a different opinion, saying she opts to get married first followed by a child.
"Mag-adopt na lang muna, sa akin wala akong nakikitang masama bilang doon ako galing. So wala akong nakikitang problema doon kung magi-insist siya na 'yon muna talaga,” Panganiban said.
Panganiban surmised that Ramsay might have probably listed adoption as one of their options.
The 2 stars, who have been together for more than 3 years, are already talking about marriage but it will not happen soon. Panganiban said they are in no hurry to settle down.
She said: "Hindi naman po kami nagmamadali dahil alam namin sa isa’t isa na gusto namin kami na talaga."
Eye surgery
Meanwhile, Panganiban disclosed that she underwent a successful eye operation on Tuesday last week. Ramsay paid for the operation as his post-Christmas gift to her, she said.
"Masarap ang pakiramdam pero masakit siya after ng surgery. So, mga 3 hours kong di madilat ang mga mata ko," she said.
"Malabo lang talaga ang mata ko since Grade 5 ako. Ang tagal ko ng naka-salamin so gusto ko namang makakita ng malinaw na walang eyeglasses. Two hundred seventy five dati, ngayon 20-20 na siya," the "Bulong" star explained.
Panganiban also opted to correct her eye vision after she was branded as a snob by some members of the press. Panganiban explained that she had difficult time recognizing people’s faces because of her eye problem.
"Okay na, nakakakita na ako ng malinaw so wala na akong problemang kumilala ng press ngayon katulad ng issue sa akin dati,” she said.
