MANILA, Philippines - International singing sensation Charice ends all reservations about her stint on “Glee” by confirming her reappearance on the show not just once but possibly up to 7 times.
“Bago ko po malimutan. Babalik po ako sa 'Glee.' I'll have 5 to 7 more episodes po,” she said during the “1 @ 11” concert.
Charice’s character Sunshine Corazon, a Pinoy exchange student at the fictional McKinley High, first appeared on the hit show’s second season pilot on September but has not been seen since. Despite being reassured countless of times that Sunshine is a recurring character, with the long interval between appearances, some people raised doubts whether she'll still to return to the show or not.
The evening after "1 @ 11," Charice flew back to the USA to attend to her pending projects. Aside from taping her scenes for “Glee,” a new album was reported to be in the works as well.
Her mother, Mommy Racquel, explained why Charice had to leave Manila so soon.
“Kasi alam naman nating lahat na nasa America talaga 'yung kanyang ano, eh... katulad ngayon magpa-Platinum na 'yung album niya sa Japan. Siyempre hindi natin mapipigil 'yun eh. Kung saan 'yung takbo ng, ika nga 'yung agos ng tubig, dun tayo,” she told GMA News.
The special Japanese edition of “Charice” was launched July last year and immediately reached Gold status in just 3 months.
Mommy Racquel also stressed that her daughter continues to keep the Philippines in mind despite her hectic schedules abroad.
“Siyempre hindi pa rin niya... tingnan niyo, kahit two days lang siya dito, hindi pa rin niya talaga nakalimutan 'yung [mag-performs] sa 'ting bansa,” she quipped.
