MANILA, Philippines - “StarStruck V” 1st Prince Enzo Pineda figured in an accident while on vacation in Oriental Mindoro just before 2010 drew to a close.
“24 Oras” reported on Jan. 3 that on Dec. 28, the rookie actor was riding a jet ski when he accidentally sped up, causing him to be thrown 10 feet into the air before plunging into the water.
“Actually sa gitna na ng dagat 'yun eh. First thing in my mind na parang, 'Oh no'... parang, 'Anong mangyayari sa 'kin? Eto na ba 'yun?'" related Enzo, who was thankful for surviving the mishap.
“Thankful ako na pinrotektahan ni God [at] nakaahon [ako]. Akala ko hindi na ko makakaahon sa tubig eh. Siyempre takbuhan [sila] lahat [papunta sa ‘kin],” the Kapuso actor related.
On Dec. 30, Enzo held his 1st showbiz anniversary/New Year’s lunch party for his fans at a restaurant in Quezon City.
“This is not for me, para sa kanila 'to dahil lahat ng blessings na binibigay sa 'kin ni Lord. Kung hindi dahil sa kanila, sa patuloy nilang pagsuporta sa 'kin ever since 'StarStruck' until now nandito pa rin sila para suportahan ako,” said he.
Enzo’s on-screen partner and friend Sarah Lahbati, who appeared as guest at the event, was only informed about Enzo's accident upon arriving at the venue.
Surprised, “StarStruck V”’s female Ultimate Survivor advised Enzo to take care of himself.
“Enzo! Ay naku, hindi ko talaga alam ['yung nangyari]. So next time, take care kasi hindi natin maiwasan 'yung mga aksidente na 'yan. Lalo na ang dami-daming kung anu-anong gadgets, mga jet ski na 'yan. Kailangan mag-ingat talaga,” Sarah said.
Enzo was one of the 14 finalists of “StarStruck V" which ran from Nov. 2009 to Feb. 2010 along with Sarah, Rocco Nacino, Ian Batherson and Diva Montelaba. Since then, he has appeared on several GMA-7 shows and is also a regular on Sunday noontime show “Party Pilipinas.” The young actor last appeared on “Kaya ng Powers” and “Jillian: Namamasko Po.”
