Jobelle Salvador admits Robin Padilla isn't the father of her first-born

MANILA, Philippines - It may have taken her 20 years to spill the beans, but come-backing actress Jobelle Salvador wants to set the record straight. After 12 years of being away from local showbiz, Jobelle returns to the limelight, and with a revelation to boot.

When she gave birth in the ‘90s, she and then-boyfriend Robin Padilla said that the baby was theirs. But now, the former “Bagets” star admits her first-born isn’t the biological child of Robin. Jobelle tells “24 Oras” on Jan. 18 that Robin merely helped her save face from that unexpected pregnancy.

“The guy was my ex, na medyo bumalik… and naka-buo. But he denied,” she laughed. “You know… masakit, ayaw ko nang balikan. But I’m just thankful, you know, na ayun, may isang Robin Padilla nga na hindi naman ako pinabayaan during that time.”

Jobelle likewise admitted that she had already told her eldest child, who is now 21 and is living in the States, the truth about the situation. “Natawa lang,” was her kid’s reaction, according to her. “Siyrempre andun pa rin ‘yung respeto naman niya dun sa tao. Hindi ko tinanggal sa kanya ‘yun kasi alam niya ‘yung buong-buong storya, hindi lang ‘yung kay Robin, pati ‘yung sa ano [biological dad] niya.”

But while Jobelle still hasn’t really seen Robin since she got back, she says she is still thankful for everything he’s done for her.
