P.I. Jazzfest to showcase int'l., local jazz artists


MANILA, Philippines - Jazz lovers are in for a month of jazz, samba, and more.

The ongoing P.I. Jazzfest that features international and local jazz artists will hold "Fiesta at the Piazza." This concert on Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. will be held at McKinley Hill in Taguig City.

Scheduled to perform are Cubanila, Edza HQ, Sabor Latino, Eileen Sison Guarana, Escola de Samba de Manila, and surprise guests.

P.I. Jazzfest, the Philippine International Jazz and Arts Festival, kicked off on February 3 and will run until March 2. Jazz concerts, music workshops, and other related events are to be held in various venues in Metro Manila.

On February 25, the "ABS-CBN Jazz Night presents Fourplay" at 6 p.m. at The Rockwell Tent in Makati.

The concert will feature international jazz legends Bob James, Nathan East, Chuck Loeb, Harvey Mason, as well as Jon Irabagon and Mishka Adams.

Now on its 6th year, the P.I. Jazzfest has also lined up other performances by the Tierney Sutton Band (Feb. 26), Hubert Laws with Debra Laws (Feb. 27), and local artists Richard Merk, Jacqui Magno, and Pat Castillo. The full schedule can be viewed here.
