Princess Snell fires back at show promoter

MANILA, Philippines – “Starstruck V” Avenger Princess Snell is irritated that a show promoter is blowing a particular incident out of proportion and has aggravated the situation by saying bad things about her.

“Anong problema niya? Bakit niya ko kailangang siraan sa mga tao na hindi ako pumupunta sa show?,” Snell told “Startalk TX” in a taped interview aired on March 19.

She also confirmed the report that she bailed out of the provincial show, but downplayed it by explaining that she informed the promoter, a man identified only as Erika Lopez, more than a day before the schedule, contrary to what the latter claimed.

“Sinabi ko na sa kanya 'yun three days before nung show. Binigyan ko siguro siya ng mga walong artista o anim na [pangalan ng] artista [as other options], so bakit... alam mo 'yun, sa isang araw lang pwede ka ng kumuha ng ibang artista,” she said.

Lopez related what transpired when Snell failed to appear on the show.

“Nagtampo sa akin 'yung kausap ko eh. [Nakalagay] sa tarpaulin is 'Princess Snell' eh, nandoon. Expected ng tao [si] Princess Snell [darating]. Ayokong masira sa kausap ko. Parang kaibigan ko na 'yung mayor na rin dun,” he said in a separate taped interview on the same “Startalk” episode.

He added that Snell was paid 10,000 as down payment for her appearance on said show scheduled last February. However, she allegedly did not return the money in full despite not showing up.

Snell addressed this accusation and explained why she did not return the remaining half of Lopez’s payment.

“Actually may binigay siya sa 'king 10,000 pesos [down payment]. Tapos may utang siya sa 'king 5,000 pesos. Matagal na yon! Diyos ko 'Starstruck' days pa 'yun. So siyempre inaasahan ko, 'yung 5,000 ibalik niya sa 'kin, 'di ba?

“So siyempre [dahil] hindi ako pumunta sa show, ibinalik ko sa kanya 'yung downpayment niya, which is 5,000. Kasi [nga] may 5,000 siyang utang sa 'kin. Bakit niya papalakihin 'yung issue? Tatawagan pa niya lahat ng tao na ako 'yung may utang sa kanya [pero] siya 'yung may utang sa 'kin!,” the actress said.

Asked about this, Lopez clarified, “Yung sinasabi niyang utang ko, nagka-misplaced 'yung binayaran ko siya. Utang, pero hindi ko utang na umutang ako ng personal sa kanya. Nagkapalit lang, accident kumbaga.”

Lopez had apparently gone as far as consulting a lawyer, who only advised him, “kausapin natin ng maayos [si Princess].”

Snell was indignant when she learned that Lopez planned on suing her.

“Sabi nila idedemanda daw ako dahil sa 5,000, dahil kulang 'yung binigay ko. Ano 'yon?!" Apparently she feels hiring a lawyer would cost more than the amount they are fighting over.

“Ang sa 'kin lang, sana 'wag naman niyang palakihin 'tong issue na 'to. Ayokong makipag-away sa kanya… pero kung sisiraan din niya ko, aba magsasalita din ako!,” Snell added.

Lopez, who admitted that he’s just waiting for Snell’s apology, advised the “Starstruck” alum, “Magbago ka lang, huwag mong ulitin itong nangyari sa akin. Sabi ko, kukunin pa naman kita eh. Pangako 'yan.”
