MANILA, Philippines — Actress Isabel Granada is livid after news of her death spread like wildfire Wednesday, April 13.
The actress, long absent in the limelight, decried the hoax, calling it "cruel" and "irresponsible."
In a text message to Bulletin Entertainment, Granada said, "I really don't know sino po nagkalat but I'm sure the person must have galit sa akin or ingget."
The 'news' of her demise actually spread out via Twitter after a veteran writer made mention of it, even going on to detail that the actress died of ovarian cancer.
A number of tabloids and websites quickly latched onto the news only to pull out said item after receiving Granada's denial via text message that read: "Im good po..thank u po sa concern..i couldnt answer calls/txt, sensya napo. im ok po."
In 2006, Granada had her right ovary removed due to a cyst. Two years ago, she had two more cysts removed from her left ovary. In interviews after the
operation, Granada said she was "okay." She also refuted insinuations that she had cancer.
Granada started her career in the defunct teen show, "That's Entertainment."
She is a licensed pilot and is married to businessman-politician Geryk Genasky Aguas.
