Ogie still won’t confirm Regine's supposed pregnancy; Nikki Gil discovers athletic side

MANILA, Philippines – Despite reports that his wife, Regine Velasquez, is already supposedly five weeks pregnant, singer-composer Ogie Alcasid remains mum about it.

Although speculations have already spread and even aired on “Paparazzi” on Sunday, Alcasid—when cornered by an “SNN” correspondent after his recent Araneta Coliseum concert—evaded the issue.

“Me? Ako ba ‘yung hot topic? Akala ko.... Hindi ako ‘yon,” he initially said.

However, the singer-composer revealed that they will announce something, probably hinting it is all about the much-awaited pregnancy of his wife.

“Pretty soon my wife and I will be saying something,” he quipped on “Showbiz

News Ngayon,” April 14. “Soon.....sooner than soonest,” he added.

Meanwhile, another singer, Nikki Gil, shared her new experience while on short vacation in the US with boyfriend Billy Crawford and bestfriend Iya Villania.

Gil related that, for the first time ever, she went on mountain skiing in the US together with the two—an experience she deemed “super fun.”

“I mean, I found myself in the best position. I was on tour with my boyfriend and my best friend,” she said on the same “SNN” episode.

Admitting “ako, sobrang hindi ako athletic”, the singer said her two companions were more than glad that she finally tried to join in on the fun.

“As in sobrang tuwang-tuwa si Iya at si Billy kasi they got me to do something out of the box. Ako (kasi) ‘yung tipong manonood lang sa gilid at magkukuha ng pictures nila.”

“Siyempre na-tense ako kasi hindi talaga ako athletic, as in lampa talaga ako,” said the skiing newbie, deeming the experience more as a lesson about life. “I learned about perseverance, friendship, team work.”

Villania said, “sobrang nabitin kami,” which was why she decided to extend her stay and “enjoy that extra day.”


For Crawford, “The trip was definitely a blessing. It was much needed as well kasi nakapahinga rin ng konti.”

Deeming the vacation as something very special, the singer-dancer added, “I think every day is special moment regardless of what the situation is, wherever you are in the world you can make it special naman.”
