A predawn magnitude-4.7 quake rocked the Mindoro area in Southern Luzon Monday, but there was no initial report of damage or casualty.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was recorded at 2:28 a.m., and was tectonic in origin.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake's epicenter was 86 km southwest of Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.
However, it did not immediately cite specific areas where the quake was felt.
Phivolcs said no damage or aftershock was expected from Monday's predawn quake.
