MANILA, Philippines – Christians all over the world commemorate Holy Week in solemn ways, but in these modern times, people have come to celebrate this sacred season in a variety of ways—becoming part of an annual tradition in which they take advantage of the huge chunk of time off work.

Local Tinseltown is not exempt from what has become a custom to Christians and non-Christians alike. Here are what some of our celebrities are planning to do in the coming long weekend as told to "Paparazzi" last Sunday, April 17.

Nikki Gil: “I’ll be with my family. Pipiliin kong maging masaya sa kung anuman gawin ko at kung saan man ako mapunta.”

Vicki Belo: “Nandito lang ako during Holy Week, mag we-way of the cross kami. But Friday I’ll be leaving for Bangkok. Magkasama kami ni Hayden [Kho] pupunta kami sa Bangkok for two days lang.”

Rhian Ramos: "Reflection lang siguro. Kasi eto lang ‘yung isang week na pwede tayong tumigil, take a step back and i-contemplate naman ang buhay natin.”

Hayden Kho: “Dedicate time to reflect on my life. Write down things that I want to really think about in my life, things that I’m thankful for. Kung minsan nanuod ako ng special Lenten shows. Actually 'yung ‘Passion of Christ,’ paulit-ulit kung pinapanuod 'yan eh. It’s good to remind ourselves na may namatay for us.”

Bella Padilla: “I will go to La Union, to the beach. I don’t practice Lent ‘cause I’m not catholic so parang normal day lang for me pero at least I get a vacation kasi walang work nuon.”

Steven Silva: “Uwi ako sa Davao, that’s where my family is, pasyal and relax lang.”

Ruffa Gutierrez: “Magdadasal at mag-re-reflect. Kanya-kanya kami this year eh. Kami ng mga bata we were invited to my friends’ farm so ‘dun kami. My mom and dad [Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama] will be in Baguio. All the boys [Richard and Raymond Gutierrez] will be in Boracay naman.”

Mo Twister: “I will be backpacking to Europe. Solo lang.”

Dolly Anne Carvajal: “I’ll be in Boracay with my kids.”

In an interview with Bulletin Entertainment, meanwhile, Charlene Gonzales-Muhlach shared, "We will be going to Mataas na Kahoy in Batangas. We have a rest house there overlooking Taal lake. The kids love it there. We will go wakeboarding for sure."
