Willie Miller continued to play solid on offense and even got his teammates more involved. His assist to Billy Mamaril gave Ginebra a 40-25 lead early in the second period.
But Talk N Text was so explosive and wiped out that big lead in a short span. A blistering 12-2 run capped by an Ali Peek basket gave shoved the Tropang Texters to within 37-42 midway the period.
A Jason Castro jumper tied the count at 48-all, 2:29 left in the second quarter before Nate Brumfield capped a 5-0 windup as the Gin Kings preserved a 53-48 lead at the turn.
Brumfield already had 14 rebounds on top of 11 points in the first 24 minutes of play. Miller led all scorers with 13 points.
