A magnitude-5 quake rattled Antique province late Sunday afternoon, even as state seismologists warned of possible aftershocks.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was recorded at 5:15 p.m. and was tectonic in origin.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake's epicenter was traced to 5 km northwest of San Jose de Buenavista town.
Phivolcs said the quake was felt at Intensity IV in Sibalom, Antique; and Intensity III in Iloilo City; San Jose, Patnongon and Hamtic (Antique).
Intensity IV is described as "Moderately Strong" while Intensity III is "Weak."
While Phivolcs said no damage was expected from the quake, it warned of possible aftershocks.
