MANILA, Philippines – Boxing superstar and Sarangani representative Manny Pacquiao is willing to flex his vocal chops and appear in the hit US musical series “Glee.”
In an ABS-CBN News report, the pugilist-congressman related he was invited to be a guest on the show, which features other artists with Filipino blood, such as Fil-Irish Darren Criss and international sensation Charice. Pacquiao noted though that he's yet to receive a formal confirmation on the offer.
Manny’s latest response on the matter sounded more positive compared to his previous “busy” stand. As he said in an interview aired on “24 Oras” last May 18, “Busy pa ako. Tsaka siguro na pag-usapan pag ano na ha.”
Even his other half, Jinkee Pacquiao, and close friend, Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson, are supportive of his possible guest appearance on “Glee," added the ABS-CBN News report.
The “Pacquiao on ‘Glee’” buzz has been going around since Darren himself related in an interview that he would love to meet and work with the eight-division world champ.
“I know Manny Pacquiao loves to sing. Probably he would want to guest star in ‘Glee’ when we have a boxing episode. He will knock me out in my part!” a Bulletin Entertainment report by Janet Nepales quoted the young singer as saying.
The world may very well know Manny’s passion for singing, what with the traditional post-fight concerts he's had, as well as the song numbers he did during his several guest appearances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Manny has even released his first international single, his version of Dan Hill’s “Sometimes When We Touch,” last month.
Locally, he released the album “Laban Nating Lahat Ito” in 2006, which featured the song “Para Sayo Ang Laban Na ‘To.”
