MANILA, Philippines- Coco Martin may have triumphed with nominations, awards and acclaim for his craft.

Still, he battles a personal uncertainty as he longs to be with his daughter from a relationship with actress Katherine Luna.

No father would want to be estranged from his child, but at the moment, Coco doesn’t want to force himself to his six-year-old daughter with Luna. He plans to work things out silently with her and away from the media. He doesn’t want things done in circus-like fashion and add fiasco to previous word swaps he and Katherine faced in the past.

“I’m going to fix this and there’s no point in bringing the media into it,” he said.

It can be recalled that Katherine Luna allegedly didn’t want to show their daughter to Coco. She then went public claiming that Coco has not been a good provider for their daughter.

The actor says his daughter is one of the reasons he is working hard. He said that all the hard work he is investing in his career is for his family.

In “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin,” Coco shared that all his sequences are done twice as he plays dual roles. According to him, he usually tapes from 60 to 70 sequences a day.

“I’m grateful for this show and the fact that viewers love it. But it’s very challenging and sometimes I would like to break down and cry because of how taxing the roles are. We work until the wee hours of the morning. There are also times I get confused with the roles I play,” Coco explained.

Looking back, his life is a lot better now. He has a stable means of income.

Before stardom beckoned, Coco didn’t know where his next paycheck would come from.

Roles in indie films didn’t offer decent salary enough to make ends meet.

He is thankful to TV director Andoy Ranay for casting him in “Ligaw na Bulaklak,” his first break at ABS-CBN. Since then, he has been able to work in various TV shows of the network.

“I’m just glad that Andoy saw some of my indie films and trusted me with a role in his series,” he quipped.

Coco has received numerous nominations and awards in his relatively young career.

Recently he was bestowed the Actor of the Decade Award by the 2011 Gawad Urian.

“It’s a great feeling to be on the same level with Christopher de Leon and Phillip Salvador at my young age,” he said. “My goal as an actor is to make a contribution through my craft by giving my best which my audience deserves!”

He has movies lined up in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. He is the face of Wade, Belo, Wow Ulam, Bench, Boardwalk.
