MANILA, Philippines – Jennylyn Mercado’s manager Becky Aguila only has scathing words for her ward’s biological mother, following the latter’s interview with “The Buzz” on June 5.

In a statement flashed onscreen on “Umagang Kay Ganda,” Tuesday, Aguila said “it was a SELFISH act” on Jinkee’s part to deny “… knowledge of daughter’s battery and her past lover who abused her daughter,” adding that the experience left Mercado with “not just physical pain but trauma to her young mind.”

The interview with Dubai-based Jinkee, done with The Filipino Channel (TFC)-ABS-CBN Middle East, was aired locally on "The Buzz" last Sunday. Jinkee refuted all allegations that Mercado made in a recent tell-all interview with Yes! Magazine, including Jinkee allegedly marrying a drug addict who abused the then-three year old Mercado.

Jinkee also belied the purported non-existent lines of communication between her and Mercado; her alleged failure to provide financially for Mercado in her younger years; and her blood ties with Mercado’s adoptive mother Mommy Lydia who, according to her, is not her cousin contrary to long-running reports. She also said claimed that "There’s no agreement between me and Lydia. She did not even try officially na ampunin si Jennylyn. No adoption paper and it doesn’t exist at all."

In the entirety of the interview, Jinkee avoided showing her face to the camera apparently in order to protect her own family. Commenting on this, Aguila said it was a “cowardly act.”

“… if you're really speaking the truth, she should have shown herself in public since she had the guts to tell her side of the story,” she added.

The manager went on, “So unbecoming of a mother and until now she showed to everyone what kind of mother she is.”

Aguila did not hold back in venting her feelings for Jinkee’s most recent public pronouncements.

SHE DOESN'T DESERVE A DAUGHTER LIKE JENNYLYN. At the end of the day, SHE'S THE MOTHER AND SHE SHOULD KNOW BETTER!” read the last part of Aguila's statement on the matter.

Mercado has yet to air her side as of this writing.
