MANILA, Philippines – Joshua Zamora refused to comment on his brother Jason’s alleged involvement in the rumored breakup of Sen. Chiz Escudero and wife, Christine Flores.
Although he admits hearing about it from the grapevine, he says he is in no position to speak for his brother.
“Mahirap mag-react kung hindi mo masyadong alam pa yung sitwasyon,” said he in
an interview with “StarTalk TX.” “I cannot speak naman for him. Kasi kumbaga entitled naman siya magsalita on his own."
Joshua also keeps a lid on it out of respect for Escudero.
"Siyempre senator yan, nire-respect ko our senator di ba? Tsaka mahirap, masyadong delicate na ano yun. Wala naman akong alam, at hindi ako sigurado. Ayokong mag-comment kung hindi rin naman ako sigurado."
Entertainment editor Ricky Lo made public the Escuderos’ breakup on April 19. Citing an unnamed source, he revealed that the two had been leading separate lives for at least five months since late last year.
On May 6, Victor Agustin of Manila Standard came out with a column titled "Wife Out-Manoeuvres Chiz" in which he wrote, "The wife apparently has found in her rebound a partner to help her run a small business, a dance studio that the senator had funded to keep his then new wife busy."
Writer Jojo Gabinete claimed in a PEP article to have personally sighted Christine and Jason together in a Quezon City mall last March 27.
He wrote: "Si Christine nga ang babae na aming nakita. Nakasuot siya ng white blouse at khaki shorts. White shirt, fatigue shorts at cap naman ang suot ni Jason.
"Si Jason ang nagbayad ng mga pinamili nila ni Christine sa Healthy Options dahil pumunta ang huli sa Marks & Spencer store. Pagkatapos magbayad, sinundan ni Jason si Christine sa tindahan na pinuntahan nito."
Escudero has appealed for deference, urging media to stop harping on the issue. Lo wrote that Escudero relayed through close friends, for them [Chiz and Christine] to be left alone.
Meanwhile, Christine and Jason are still mum on the matter.
