Cristine glad that Ara's issue with Aiko is now over

MANILA, Philippines – Cristine Reyes can't be any more relieved that sister Ara Mina's issue with her “Reputasyon” co-star Aiko Melendez is now a thing of the past.

“At least tapos na ang kalbaryo nilang dalawa at naka-move on na silang dalawa sa kani-kanilang buhay,” Cristine said on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” July 12.

When Aiko and Jomari Yllana separated in 2004, it was alleged that Ara was the third wheel that drove a wedge between the couple. Since then, both women have given each other the cold treatment.

Cristine feels there is no need to resuscitate the issue now that she’s working with Aiko. In fact, she told her elder sister about working with Jomari’s ex-wife in a soap.

“Saka tapusin na natin ‘yon kasi sa pagkakaalala ko, hindi pa ako artista noon, bata pa talaga ako noon. So ‘wag na nating balikan ‘yun mga nakaraan,” Cristine said.

Aiko echoes the sentiment.

“Tinatapos na namin ‘to. Ngayon at sa mga susunod na araw, dapat wala nang issue na gano’n. Sarado na natin ‘yung chapter na ‘yon. I mean, I’m gonna work with Jomari, soon na, ‘di ba?” she said.

Aiko's idea of burying the hatchet, it turns out, was, “Bakit kaya hindi kaming tatlo [nina Ara at Jomari] na para tapusin na ito, di ba? One time, big time.”

Talking about Jomari still excites Aiko, it seems. “Feeling ko may possibility na may gusto pa rin siya sa akin,” she said before bursting into big laughter. Clearly she can joke about it now.

Aiko shared in jest, "‘Sa mga sinasabi mo, hindi na tuloy ako makababae. Akala nila... Hindi ako maka-move on sa ‘yo. Sabi ko, 'hindi ba totoo?'"

On the possibility of her ending up with her ex-husband again, Aiko quipped, “Nararamdaman ko ‘yon.”
