Paris Hilton to visit Megamall

MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos will get a chance to get close to Paris Hilton when she opens her signature shop in a mall in Mandaluyong City on Thursday, August 18, 2011.

She is scheduled to arrive Sunday night.

The 30-year-old socialite, hotel chain heiress, and now fashion designer will make her only stop at the SM Megamall for the opening of the Paris Hilton Megamall shop. Every purchase of a Paris Hilton bag entitles the buyer to a raffle coupon and a chance to meet Hilton in the flesh.

In the new store, Hilton presents the latest collection of handbags and accessories that carry her name.

“I love this collection; it’s one of our best ones so far,” she said. “I was very inspired by old Hollywood glamour as well as the trends of new celebrities. For fall, I wanted a very luxurious and eye-catching collection so we used sequins, reflective materials and mixed it with faux fur, patent, faux ostrich and crocodile. For the toned down, everyday styles I chose shiny and appliqués.”

There are 31 Paris Hilton signature stores around the world.

Hilton first announced that she was visiting the Philippines when she dropped by the victory party of Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao after he defeated Shane Mosley in Las Vegas, Nevada, last May.

She confirmed that she was coming in subsequent messages on Twitter.

There were reports that she will also grace the opening of a resort in Boracay.
