'Asiong Salonga' wins Manila film fest’s Best Picture

MANILA -- The only action flick in the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) "Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story" wins Best Festival Picture.

Held at the Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila Wednesday evening, the event was attended by the biggest and brightest stars of the entertainment industry.

Named as 2nd and 3rd Best Pictures of the awards night are "Enteng ng Ina Mo" and "Shake, Rattle and Roll XII", respectively.

"Segunda Mano" lead actor Dingdong Dantes bagged the Best Actor Award, while Maricel Soriano was named as this year's Best Actress for Regal Films's "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow".
