MANILA, Philippines – Young actor Enrique Gil admits that he found immense pleasure working in Bhutan for the upcoming ABS-CBN series “Princess and I.”
According to Gil, the kingdom, located at the eastern end of the Himalayas, is very different from places he visits frequently including Paris, Hawaii, Spain and the USA.
“Medyo exotic ‘yung place, it’s something new,” said he in an interview with push.com. “The weather was really cold. Puro bundok, basta super iba ‘yung environment ‘dun. I enjoyed it.”
More than that, Gil also found delight in bonding with his co-star Kathryn Bernardo.
“Naging closer kami sobra,” said he. “Hindi limited ‘yung time namin na magkasama.”
Gil intimated that he and Bernardo often spend time together after every shoot. “We make sure na naglolokohan kami, kumakain ng laging sabay,” he said.
But of course, they were not by their lonesome.
“Kasama [ko] handler ko, si Kathryn, mommy niya,” Gil explained.
The 19-year old actor also explained that he now refers to Kathryn as ‘Potato and Cheese’ on Twitter.
“I call her that kasi yun lang kinakain niya ‘dun [Bhutan] kasi hindi siya mahilig sa vegetables,” he shared.
Gil started his showbiz career via workshops conducted by Audie Gemora’s Trumpets. He went on to start a career as commercial modelprior to being chosen to be part of Star Magic's "Gigger Boys."
16-year old Bernardo is best known for her role as Mara in the 2010 remake of the popular soap opera, “Mara Clara.”
