Let's Be Channels Of Peace

MANILA, Philippines — I join the Filipino nation in celebrating Easter, which is a very important occasion in the Christian world.
As we commemorate the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, let us remind ourselves of God’s unconditional love and infinite mercy. Let us not forget that Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross to save us from our sins.

As we come together to celebrate Easter, let us offer praise and thanks to our Lord Almighty and remind ourselves of that vast love that God has for us and for the entire mankind. As it is said in the Bible, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Perhaps, during this season, we can also ask ourselves what we can do for our brothers and sisters especially those who are less fortunate as our way of paying it forward. In a world that is torn by conflict, misunderstanding, and suffering, let us be channels of peace.

May our thoughts, words, and actions be guided by basic Christians values of selfless service, compassion, and charity. May God’s love reign in our hearts not just during this season, but in every day of our lives.
