MANILA, Philippines - Foreign celebrities continue to populate the elite list of endorsers of local clothing brands. The latest addition, particularly to Bench, is "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth.
The brand, founded by mogul Ben Chan, made the announcement via Twitter on June 23:
"This is it!!! Liam Hemsworth is officially our newest member! WELCOME to the @benchtm family! #Benchsetter."
In the past few days, the brand dropped clues about it for followers. Among these was that the actor was born in Australia, and that he's the brother by blood of "Thor," who was brought to life in the movies by Liam's elder brother, Chris Hemsworth. Another telling clue was that the brand's newest endorser recently got engaged. Note that Liam just got hitched to his girlfriend of three years, former Disney star Miley Cyrus.
Liam joins the likes of international celebrities such as Michael Trevino ("The Vampire Diaries"), Lucy Hale ("Pretty Little Liars"), Joe Jonas (of the Jonas Brothers), "American Idol" Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta, and members of Korean boy group Super Junior, Siwon and Donghae, among the recently acquired endorsers of Bench.
Prior to starring in the blockbuster film adaptation of "Hunger Games," the 22-year-old actor graced the big screen opposite Miley in the 2010 romance-drama adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel, "The Last Song," through which their relationship blossomed. He eventually popped the question to her on May 31, offering her a stunning 3.5-carat diamond ring from Neil Lane, a jeweler extraordinaire.
Both Liam's personal life and career are on the upswing. He has a slew of big projects slated for release in the next two years. These include "Empire State" (with Emma Roberts), "Paranoia" (with Harrison Ford), and "Arabian Nights" (with Anthony Hopkins and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson).
