Slater Young ‘Much Better’ After Minor Car Accident

MANILA, Philippines – “Pinoy Big Brother” Season 4 winner Slater Young is fast recovering from a minor car accident he got into Monday morning in Cebu.

The 24-year-old Kapamilya celebrity was in his usual cheery mood, tweeting on June 26, “Morning guys! Thanks for all your concern.. Im much better na.. :)”

As reported by ABS-CBN News, Slater was driving on his way home when he accidentally hit a dead end. The road, he noted, was not that well-lit. He likewise admitted that he was sleepy at the time.

"Akala ko nasa main road pa ako ng subdivision [kaya] mabilis ‘yung takbo ko. ‘Pag-right turn ko akala ko ‘yun ‘yung daanan, ‘yun pala may cul-de-sac (dead end) na siya. 'Pag-break ko, tumama ako sa gate,” said he.

In his attempt to minimize the impact of the crash, Slater accidentally twisted his foot.

"Ang nangyari lang my foot was on the break, na ‘yung nakita ko siya (dead end), nag-break ako nang sobrang lakas para siyang may whiplash at nag-bend ‘yung foot ko," he said.

Slater underwent an x-ray examination the same day, as related on Twitter.

“Thank God bruised lang! :),” part of his post read.

He, however, has to use crutches for two to three days. His doctor also advised him to rest and to not drive for the meantime.

“Thanks for the well wishes guys! Im home na. Sinamahan ako ng mom nd dad ko kanina sa hospital. Sweet nila. :) @original_slater @YoungSalome,” he tweeted Monday evening.

His father, Engr. John Young, also thanked Slater’s supporters for their get-well wishes, adding that the former “will be able to walk by Friday.”

“Glad that @thatguyslater has only minor bruise. Lucky @thatguyslater always put his seat belt,” he said on Twitter.

Slater went to his hometown Cebu after a show he did in Tacloban with Kapamilya stars Piolo Pascual and Denise Laurel.
