Aljur Will ‘Test The Waters’ First Before Courting Rachelle Ann

MANILA, Philippines – Hunk actor Aljur Abrenica hopes to “get to know” singer Rachelle Ann Go more after spending time with her in the US recently for a series of shows.

Blind item reports seem to be spot on about their speculation that Abrenica and Go have been slowly warming up to each other. In fact, the former has confessed that he’s now somehow more comfortable being with the latter following their talks and bonding session in New York and California early this month.

“Kaming dalawa na lang kasi ni Rachelle ang naiwan mula sa group na nag-show sa New York noong June 3. May isang show pa kasi kaming dalawa sa Carson, California naman on June 9.

"Since matagal pa naman, nagpaiwan ang group namin sa New York para makapasyal. Kaya ‘yun na ang pagkakataon makilala namin ni Rachelle ang isa’t isa,” Abrenica shared in an interview with PEP posted on July 8.

According to Abrenica, they were able to see a Broadway musical show in the Big Apple and chat over dinner with their handlers.

“Masasabi ko nga na mas nakilala ko si Rachelle at naging close na kami after that,” he smiled.

Romance looms?

Speaking of closeness, it’s worthy to note that their friendship has come at an opportune time as they’re both very much single and, probably, ready to mingle.

Recall that the last rumored love interest of Abrenica was Kylie Padilla while Go’s last relationship was with dancer-actor John Prats.

Having said that, is there any hope for them to, probably, play sweet music in the future?

“I want to get to know Rachelle more,” Abrenica quickly chirped.

Describing Go as “maganda at mabait” and undeniably talented, which is why “maraming nagmamahal sa kanya,” Abrenica nevertheless swiftly parried the possibility of courting the singing star.

“Ayokong basta ko na lang papasukin ang panliligaw kay Rachelle. Baka kasi may kasabay ako, kaya makikiramdam muna ako kung saka-sakali,” he noted.

“Ang sa akin lang, okey itong magkaibigan kami. Gusto ko ulit na makasama sa mga shows si Rachelle kasi mas kumportable na kami sa isa’t isa,” he enthused.

Given the chance, he said he would even love to share the stage with Go in the future.

Abrenica likewise confessed in the interview that he was initially timid towards Go even if they would often bump into each other backstage of the “Party Pilipinas” set.

“Kasi nga galing pa siya sa ibang network that time. Kapag nakikita ko siya, hanggang ‘hi’ at ‘hello’ lang ako sa kanya,” he recalled.

“Pero ngayon, magkaibigan na kami. May mga exchange of text messages na kami ngayon. Minsan kinukumusta ko ang araw niya. Sasagot naman siya,” Abrenica added.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old heartthrob revealed that they would also often talk about religion. Abrenica is Catholic while Go is Christian.

“Naging curious lang po ako kung ano ba ang pinagkaiba ng pagiging Christian sa pagiging Katoliko. Para kasi sa akin, iisa lang iyon eh. Kaya ‘yun ang madalas naming pag-usapan,” he shared.

He may be quite noncommittal about the possibility of a romance with Go, but Abrenica admitted that he enjoyed his conversations with Go that, given the chance, he would like to go out with her to resume their interesting discussions.

“Kapag hindi kami masyadong busy sa schedules namin, yayayain ko siyang lumabas. Kung gusto niyang may kasama siyang mga friends niya, okey lang. Para makilala ko rin ang mga kaibigan niya,” he enthused.
