BANNED | These firecrackers could get you a year in jail

MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippine National Police released on Wednesday a list of firecrackers that are illegal to sell and use and appealed to the public not to use these to reduce the number of injuries during the New Year’s celebration.
PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. explained that Republic Act 7183 declares illegal any pyrotechnic that has explosive materials of more than 1/3 teaspoon or 0.2 grams.

The prohibited illegal firecrackers are:
  • Watusi or "dancing firecrackers"
  • Piccolo
  • Super Lolo and Atomic Big Trianggulo
  • Mother Rockets
  • Lolo Thunder
  • Pillbox
  • Boga
  • Big Judah's belt
  • Big Bawang
  • Kwiton
  • Goodbye Philippines and its other variations like Bin Laden and Coke-in-can
  • Kabasi
  • Atomic Bomb
  • Five Star
  • Pla-pla
  • Og
  • Giant Whistle Bomb
  • Other unlabeled and imported firecrackers
The penalty for using illegal firecrackers ranges from six months to a year’s imprisonment or a fine of up to P20,000.

The PNP also reiterated warnings against the indiscriminate firing of guns during the New Year celebrations.
