Some P15 million in property was destroyed in fires that hit an industrial area in Taguig City and a ceramics company in Bulacan last weekend, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Monday.
In its 6 a.m. report, the NDRRMC said a 13-hour fire razed two factories in Taguig City Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. at an industrial paint establishment and a sanitary tissue factory at 1st Avenue in Bagong Tanyag.
The fire reached Task Force Charlie and was put out only at 10:30 p.m., and that the damage to property was estimated at P12 million.
It added at least 20 fire trucks responded to the incident.
A separate report on dzBB radio said three firefighters sustained minor injuries while fighting the fire.
However, the dzBB report said arson investigators could not immediately pinpoint the cause of the fire as the two establishments claimed the fire started in the other's facility.
Meanwhile, the NDRRMC said some P3 million in property was destroyed in a fire that hit a ceramics company in Meycauayan City in Bulacan last Dec. 28.
It said the fire started at 1:20 p.m. and reached Task Force Bravo before it was put out at 10:23 p.m.
