Claudine No Comment On Hospital Controversy

MANILA, Philippines – After figuring in the controversial airport brawl May last year, actress Claudine Barretto is once again in the news after tabloid reports came out just before 2012 closed alleging that she had made a scene at a hospital in Pasig City.

The incident, which said write-ups had attributed to a radio report, had the actress allegedly shouting at a doctor and a number of staff members for unspecified reasons. Her husband Raymart Santiago was said to have rushed to the hospital to placate her but failed.

In her guest appearance as co-host on “The Buzz,” Sunday, Claudine’s sister Gretchen said that the former preferred not to speak about the matter anymore.

“Kanina tinext ko siya. I said, ‘Claud, I’m co-hosting ‘The Buzz’ and they’re asking kung totoo nga ‘yung nangyari or if we can comment.’ Tinawagan niya ‘ko n’ung nasa dressing room ako. Sabi niya, ‘Ayoko nang mag-comment diyan,’ and so I guess I have to respect that,” she related.

Prior, a VTR where Claudine’s lawyers addressed the matter was aired. According to Atty. Rose Ann Rosales, they talk to their client “from time to time, and wala namang gano’ng insidente.”

On her part, Atty. Renel Operario said, “Knowing Claudine naman, hindi naman basta-basta mang-aaway ‘yon ng gano’n gano’n lang. So sa ngayon hindi pa namin masasabi kasi wala pa kaming information as to that.”

Meanwhile, “The Buzz” was told that Claudine is currently on an “out-of-town trip” when it made another attempt at securing comment from her camp. Her manager Shirley Kuan is likewise unavailable; apparently, she is also “out of town.”
