MANILA, Philippines - The fun was temporarily cut short in the noontime show "Wowowillie" on Thursday following host Willie Revillame's outburst over the supposed unprofessionalism of his co-hosts Ethel Booba and Ate Gay.
“Teka, sandali ho, may sasabihin ako sa inyo," he said, interrupting the "Tutok To Win" segment of the program.
“Pinagalitan ko ho si Ethel, saka si Ate Gay. Hindi sila professional. Sinigawan ko sila para malaman n’yo. Nagalit sila dahil hindi sila nanalo sa costume [via the shows' ‘Mini-Concierto’ portion]..." he said, saying something about Ethel supposedly aping a star from a rival show, Anne Curtis.
He then lambasted Ate Gay and Ethel in front of the apparently shocked live audience.
“Ang lalaki na ng ulo n’yo! You don't do that to me dahil, ako, binibigyan ko kayo ng lahat ng pagkakataon sa buhay. I am the producer, I am the host [of 'Wowowillie']. Ako ang nag-iisip ng ikagaganda [ng show]. Ang iniisip ko dito, publiko, hindi kayo.
"Ngayon, natalo lang sa costume, nagagalit kayo? Ginagawa ninyong kumpitensiya ito. Pinapasaya natin ang publiko at mga tao. Kaya ko kayo binibigyan ng incentive, para galingan ninyo, para mag-enjoy ang mga tao sa buong mundo. Huwag kayong maging personal. If you want to resign right now, go! Hindi ko kayo pipigilan."
The irate Revillame then threatened to end having the "Mini-Concierto" segment in future episodes.
Notably, both Ethel Booba and Ate Gay were absent on Friday's episode of the show.
Fans have since flooded the Twitter sites of both comedians asking for explanations about the issue.
Ate Gay posted on Friday that he purposely absented himself from the show thinking, "akala ko kasi ayaw na nila sa akin."
He wasn't clear, however, if he was actually suspended from the show or when he would return.
"'Di ko po alam..dedma na," he said. "Kung babalik keri lang naman."
Ethel Booba, for her part, continued to simply kid about the matter. Asked by a follower about her status in the show, she retorted, "SINGLE po. Charot!"
She denied shouting at Revillame saying, "What's new malakas naman talaga boses ko lagi nakasigaw."
Asked if she is now considering the possibilty of jumping to the competing show "Eat Bulaga" she simply quipped: "May Night Differential ba sa offer nila dun? Chos!"
