ACTOR John Lloyd Cruz had to contain his tears when asked about what he learned after portraying the character of business heir Miggy Montenegro in his upcoming movie “It Takes a Man and a Woman” opposite Sarah Geronimo.
The actor said he can relate with Miggy, who had to go through a lot of challenges. John Lloyd, however, quickly clarified that he’s very much okay.
John Lloyd also shared his thoughts on early retirement from show business, saying he will choose future projects that will really test his mettle as an actor.
"Gusto ko ma-enjoy ang buhay ko kasama ang pamilya ko. I'm after quality life with my family and would-be-family,” he said.
Meanwhile, John Lloyd said he is happy to work again with Sarah in the third installment of their successful silver screen romance. The two starred in box-office hits “A Very Special Love” and “You Changed My Life” in 2009.
"(Andun pa rin yung) special connection na mahirap ipaliwanag, na kami lang yung nakakaintindi. Hindi mo alam saan nagsimula and saan siya papunta,” he said.
Although he praised Sarah’s work ethic, John Lloyd said there are times that the actress was misunderstood, especially when it comes to her love life.
"Si Sarah kasi masyado siyang totoo, she’s very candid. Kung ano yung gusto niyang mabitawang salita, maaaring hindi napagisipan kagaad. Kaya minsan we have to give her a break, babae rin siya, nasasaktan. Minsan nadudulas ang dila, ganoon talaga,” he said.
"Lahat naman tayo dumadaan diyan. Ang maganda doon is how you rise above. Kaya niyang mag-apologize at tanggapin kung mali ang nagawa niya and move on," John Lloyd said.
The movie will be released in March 30 in more than 100 cinemas nationwide.
