Premonitions of AJ Perez’s death bared

MANILA, Philippines - Even the untimely demise of young actor AJ Perez wasn’t spared from premonitions and superstitions that are common in us, Filipinos.

Perez, whose remains lie in state at the Christ the King Parish in Greenmeadows in Libis, Quezon City, was a topic of discussion in a gathering of showbiz denizens.

According to very observant movie scribe Bunch Cortez, Perez had one time posed in front of the picture frame of the late Rico Yan, a not so good angle among the superstitious.

“Naghanap talaga siya ng picture ni Rico at nag-pose na kasama ‘yong photo ni Rico. Nakakapangilabot nga po, ” said Cortez who has been writing about the late young star.

Bunch added Star Magic has been contemplating on building up Perez in the tradition of Yan.

“Kasi, pareho silang maraming fans at malaki ang potensyal ni AJ na mas lumawak pa ang horde of fans,” exclaimed Cortez.

At the same time, foreboding tales also abound when Perez was assigned the role of Dido in the daytime soap “Sabel” opposite young actress Jessy Mendiola.

“’Yong role na ginagampanan ni AJ sa ‘Sabel,’ role ‘yon ni Alfie Anido no’n,” said Cortez.

Talk about departed showbiz actors like Anido being linked to the death of AJ is as credulous as anything.
