Still on a high after B-MEG Llamados' come from behind win over the Talk n' Text Tropang Texters, FTW's Miakka Lim, Mico Halili, Magoo Marjon, and Carlo Pamintuan discussed the "magical moment" of B-MEG team manager Alvin Patrimonio.
After B-MEG's Denzel Bowles sank two freethrows with 1.4 seconds left to send the game to overtime, Patrimonio rushed to the court in tears to embrace the 23-year-old import. Bowles went on to score the first 10 points of the Llamados in the extra period to seal the win for the B-MEG franchise.
"I would describe it as emotional electricity. One of the most genuine moments I've witnessed as a sports fan. James is the face of B-Meg, but Alvin, because of that moment, he displayed that he's the heart and soul of this Purefoods franchise. I mean how people reacted to Alvin Patrimonio, talagang unabashed. No shame. I don't care if I'm crying in front of twenty thousand even if I'm a four-time MVP. That's just pure, unadulterated passion," said Mico.
Magoo and Carlo went much further, discussing The Captain's actions and its impact to the team.
"It bridged every generation of Purefoods/B-MEG fans all the way back from the 80s to 2012. You can relate. That's Captain Lionheart. That's Alvin Patrimonio," said Magoo.
Emotional Carlo Pamintuan admitted that the masterful endgame left him and his father in tears.
"Siguro halos lahat ng boys, sa erpats mo makukuha yun e. Yung allegiance sa basketball team and my dad rooted for Purefoods. You grew up wanting to be Alvin Patrimonio. Walang important player dati, si Alvin lang. Mamimiss mo yung passion e kasi no one played like Alvin. You rarely see managers na magreact na ganun. I think Purefoods/B-MEG fans remained kahit papalit palit ang coach is because of Alvin," said Carlo.
