MANILA, Philippines - Panic swept teachers and some parents of San Roque Elementary School in Zamboanga City when 4 pupils, all girls, were nowhere to be found around 1 p.m. Friday.
Euberta Rojas, school principal, said an unidentified woman came to the school and forcibly took the 4 girls who are 7 to 10 years old.
Police immediately launched a search operation.
During their search, they received a call from a father of one of the missing girls. The father said his daughter told him they were taken by the woman to a mall in the city’s center.
Police and operatives of the Military Intelligence Group 9 immediately went to the mall and found the 4 girls who were left inside a fastfood outlet.
One of the girls, “Jesse”, said the woman offered to take them to the mall and buy them dolls – that’s why they went with the woman.
Police are still searching for the female suspect, reportedly clad in a violet dress.
Authorities are still determining the motive to the incident and if the woman is a member of a criminal group. From a report of RJ Rosalado, ABS-CBN News Zamboanga
