Jiggy Aquino Cruz was just four months old when the first bloodless people power revolution in world history took place in EDSA in 1986.
Though he was still innocent at that time, he grew up living the ideals and spirit of EDSA as imbibed in him by his lola, former President Corazon Aquino. As we celebrate EDSA 25th year, Jiggy is once again ready to commemorate the historic event and champion the lessons that he has learned from it.
Twenty-five years have passed since the Filipinos showed the world that one can effect social change through peaceful means. The EDSA Revolution of 1986 is a chapter in our history that we fondly remember, especially those who participated in it. But for the present generation, only the photos will remind them of this historic event.
Let’s get to know Ernesto Enrique and Luis Liwanag, two photographers who became witnesses to EDSA and continue to uphold its spirit and ideals through the photos that they took of the People Power revolution that forever changed our country.
