Angelika dela Cruz admits she confronted hubby’s ex

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Angelika dela Cruz, one of the most angelic faces in showbiz, has admitted having confronted the ex-girlfriend of her husband Orion Casareo.



In her first-time admission on the matter via the “Kung mahuling may iba, susugod ka ba?” episode of GMA-7’s “Starbox,” Angelika said the incident took place sometime during the early stages of her relationship with then-boyfriend Orion.

“Meron siyang ex na makulit… okay lang sa’kin na magkaibigan sila. Punta nang punta ‘yung babae sa bahay niya, [pero] walang problema [sa’kin] kasi hindi ko siya kilala,” began the actress in her interview on the show, April 8.

The Kapuso star’s nonchalant stand on the ex-girlfriend’s “pangungulit” took a different turn after she received an offensive, expletives-laden text message from the latter, who Angelika said has already been split from Orion for several years.

“Nagalit si girl, tinext niya ko. Nagalit din ako. Hindi naman masakit [‘yung text], pero nakakababae… [So] pagka-text niya sa’kin, diretso ako [sa bahay niya],” she recalled, adding, “Parang sa’kin, what right do you have to text me? I don’t even know you.”

Although she didn't really want to meet Orion's ex-girlfriend head-on, Angelika said she had to because “there are things na kailangan mong gawin kasi 'pag hindi mo ginawa, hindi titigil.”

Angelika lightheartedly recounted how embarrassed she felt when she rushed to Orion’s ex’s house with her “mukhang kontrabida” get-up (as described by host Ali Sotto).

“Galing akong finals ng isang dance showdown, naka-body make-up ako, naka-makapal na makapal na make-up ako at nakataas ‘yung buhok ko…

“Naisip ko na lang ‘yung itsura ko nung pag-uwi ko na. Pagharap ko sa salamin, sabi ko, ‘Diyos ko nanugod ako ganito ang itsura ko, nakakahiya!’” she said, laughing.

As taunting as she may have sounded---at least in her text message to Angelika---the singer-actress said Orion’s ex didn’t face her.

“Nagtago [siya]!” Angelika quipped with a laugh.

Asked how Orion reacted on the matter, Angelika said, “Siyempre nahihiya siya sa’kin.”

The couple has apparently overcome the episode, having been married for more than a year now. They also have a son, Gabriel.

Ali then queried Angelika about what she’ll do if her husband cheats on her.

“Siguro hindi ko susugurin ‘yung babae pero kawawa sa’kin ‘yung asawa ko,” said she, drawing cheers from the audience.

And if she catches Orion canoodling with someone else, Angelika said, “Sa totoo lang hindi ko talaga alam ‘yung magiging reaksyon ko. [Pero] sigurado, magpapakita ako. Hindi ko ugaling tumalikod at magtago…”

Interestingly, Ali enthused at the beginning of her interview with Angelika that she almost became her daughter-in-law. Angelika had a relationship with her son, Miko Sotto, who died in an accident in 2003.
