Flash floods, landslides loom over NE Mindanao

Flash floods and landslides loom over Northeastern Mindanao Friday due to a diffused tail-end of a cold front affecting Eastern Mindanao.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration also said parts of Visayas and Mindanao will also experience rains.

"The Provinces of Leyte, Central Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming widespread rains over Northeastern Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides," it said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.

Even Southern Luzon and the rest of Visayas will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it said.

The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy skies, PAGASA added.

PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the East to Northeast will prevail over Northern and Eastern Luzon and coming from the Northeast over Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
