A predawn quake measuring magnitude 3.4 jolted Davao in Mindanao Friday, while a magnitude-4 quake hit Surigao Thursday night.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the predawn quake was recorded at 2:06 a.m. and was tectonic in origin.
In its bulletin, it said the epicenter was 24 km southeast of Davao City.
Phivolcs also a magnitude-4 quake was recorded in the Surigao area at 10:20 p.m.
The epicenter was traced to 123 km southeast of Tandag, Surigao del Sur.
However, Phivolcs did not immediately cite specific areas where the quakes were felt.
It added no damage or aftershock was expected from the two quakes.
