High school principal in Batangas shot dead

A principal of a public school in Batangas province was shot dead shortly after attending a meeting with parents Monday afternoon.

Batangas police are gathering leads on the identity of the gunman and the motive in the killing of Don Juan A. Pastor Memorial National High School principal Julian Rianzares Jr., according to a report on dzBB radio early Tuesday.

Rianzares was shot in the head at Talaibon village in Ibaan town.

An initial investigation showed Rianzares was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
